3 Ways You Can Lose Weight Faster

We all want to lose weight, but it seems to take forever! Luckily, there are a few things you can do to speed up the process so you can lose more weight, even faster.

Being patient while losing weight can be difficult, and it is one of the big reasons many of us fail time after time. We don’t feel like we are losing enough weight to see the results we need to stay motivated. It took me over three years to finally lose the over 300 pounds that I needed to lose to get where I am today. Unfortunately, it takes time to lose all the weight that you have been accumulating over the years; sometimes over a lifetime.

However, there are a few things you can do to speed up the process, so you start losing weight quicker. These are things I wish I knew years ago because I probably could have cut some of my work in half.

Top 3 Ways to Lose Weight Faster

  1. Lower Your Sugar and Carb Intake – Consuming too much sugar and carbs can spike your insulin and cause you to gain more weight because insulin is the main fat storage hormone in your body. Even when you consume carbs, these starches are then turned into sugar and cause an insulin spike. Depending on how much weight you have to lose can determine how many carbs you should be consuming and including certain carbs may even be beneficial to your weight loss, but you still need to limit yourself to get those benefits. This is one of those instances where “too much of a good thing” rings true.
  2. Eat Meals that Are Balanced with Protein, Fat, and Vegetables – It is important to eat balanced meals that include protein, healthy fats and low-carb vegetables. This means that every meal should have all three of these things and you should be eating two to three meals a day. Protein is important because it helps you consume fewer calories overall by filling you up and keeping you full longer. Healthy fats can help you boost metabolism and help you feel satisfied. Vegetables are also great because you can eat these in large quantities to help fill you up without fearing too many calories.
  3. Move More – While you can definitely lose weight just through proper nutrition, but increasing your movement will help boost your weight loss, so you burn fat faster. Depending on your mobility, the exercise you complete is also important. When I started losing weight I began with walking, and this was good enough in the beginning, but as time went on and I began to increase my cardio and started to lift weights, the weight started coming up faster than I thought was even possible. Routinely exercising and moving will speed up your fat loss so you can reach your goals faster.
  4. BONUS: Get on a Custom Meal Plan – Getting on a Custom Meal Plan can cut out a lot of the guesswork in steps one and two because a professional nutritionist will be able to calculate just how many carbs you can have and the right amount of protein and healthy fats you need to be eating at every meal so you can lose weight quicker. I thought it would be easy to just cut back on how much I ate, and I would lose weight, but this only worked for so long before I hit a plateau and as it turns out, I stopped losing weight because I was no longer eating enough. In the end, there is no magic spell that will make you lose all the weight overnight, but there are things you can start doing so that you can lose weight quicker. These are all things that I do to help me keep the weight off, and while my goals may not be the same as they were when I was 600 pounds, the ideas remain the same. I need to eat and move accordingly to reach my goals and doing the same will help you get to your goals too, whether you need to lose 10 pounds or 300 pounds.
