Who doesn’t love waffles!?

I know I do and I knew I couldn’t just give up one of my favorite breakfasts. I wanted to be able to eat my waffles and continue to hit my goals, so that is why I made a healthy waffle that I could eat every morning. Not only is this waffle low carb, but they are also gluten-free so you don’t have to worry about negative side effects if you are sensitive to gluten.

I feel that it is important to try and make meals that you enjoy and that are similar to the ones you are already eating before you started losing weight, especially when you are first starting out because eating the same thing over and over again just to lose weight can get boring and we quickly lose our motivation. When you are able to still eat the things you enjoyed and have an arsenal of delicious recipes that you can use to change things up, you are more likely to stick to the plan and actually lose the weight.

So here they are, my healthy waffles that are great for weight loss! And, if you are on a Custom Meal Plan, you can easily fit these right into your weekly meals.

Low-Carb, Gluten-Free Waffles

  • > 1/2 cup of almond flour
  • > 1/3 cup of ricotta cheese
  • > 3 eggs
  • > 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • > 1 tsp salt
  • >  tsp baking powder
  • > 1 packet of stevia
  • > Non-stick oil spray (I use coconut oil)
  • > 1-2 tbsp syrup (Go for a natural syrup)

⚡️ Top 3 Cooking Oils for Weight Loss

  1. Add all of your ingredients in a blender and mix together.
  2. Heat your waffle iron to 425º and spray with your cooking oil.
  3. Add your mix to the waffle iron and cook until it is cooked through. This typically takes about 5 minutes.
  4. Top with your syrup.

If you don’t have a waffle iron these also make great pancakes as well! Just pour your mixture into a pan, rather than a waffle iron, remembering to flip your pancake halfway through cooking (normally 2-3 minutes on each side).
